LXR Hotels & Resorts · Anse aux Poules Bleues, Baie Lazare

Mango House occupies the old Baie Lazare estate of photographer Gian Paolo Barbieri, and it still feels more like a private house than a resort. Forty-one rooms, suites and villas sit above Anse aux Poules Bleues, all facing west — which on this coast means the sunset lands in your room rather than behind it.
Five restaurants and bars is a lot for a property this size, and it is the reason people stay put here: a Japanese counter, a Mediterranean terrace, an all-day beach kitchen, a cocktail bar in the original house and a pool bar below it. The MICHELIN Guide lists the property. The spa runs six treatment rooms in a garden pavilion above the bay.
It is a twenty-minute drive from Anse Soleil and Petite Anse, and roughly fifty minutes from the airport. Best for couples and small families who want design and food rather than a big resort programme.

The original estate house: four bedrooms, a private pool, a full kitchen and a dedicated host. Booked as a whole villa.
